Problem with BIDS

I'm designing an olap db with BIDS (business intelligence developer studio) but I cannot add any calculated members.

When I open the tab for adding calculated measures an error appear (Italian version): Errore imprevisto: 'Errore dell'applicazione'.

Looking in the event viewer I found some errors.

Source: MSOLAP$LocalCube

The description is not very meaningfull: Internal Error

Has anyone experienced this proble before ?

Any idea how to solve it ?

I tried to edit directly the source xml but don't know the sintax.

Have you by any chance installed Office 2007, but are still running SP1? If so this is a known issue, you can either apply SP2 or use the work around on my blog http://geekswithblogs.net/darrengosbell/archive/2006/11/17/97367.aspx

problem with adding sql:relation

I'm trying to load xml data using SQLXMLBulkLoad
my xml schema is:

<xsd:element name="CompanyName"/>
<xsd:element name="OrderDate"/>
<xsd:element name="Price"/>
</xsd:sequence>

<CompanyName>ABC</CompanyName>
<OrderDate>2002-10-10</OrderDate>
<Price>100$</Price>
</OrderDetail>
I've 2 tables which I want to update using this xml file:
Table Company:

CompanyID (primary)
CompanyName
Table Orders:
==========
CompanyID (primary, foreign from Company)
OrderDate
Price
how do I put the "sql:relation" annotation in 'OrderDetail' when its data should update the two tables in fields that are not the primary-key ? (CompanyName --> Company
and
OrderDate,Price --> Orders)

Problem with adding record into database

When I try to build my solution, it tells me that "SQLCommand" is not defined.

What's the problem?

Is there anything I need to put under the Page_Load procedure? Or how about on my html page, do I have to call the event procedure from there?

The Database tables were created first in a .sql file, so is it necessary to include the attributes in my Parameters.Add lines?|||Hi,
im not sure... but i think that the main problem would be the parameter name must be the same as the input variable name in your stored procedure.

anyway your codes are somewhat redundant. The following 2 lines are doing the same thing.

cmd.Parameters.Add(New SqlParameter("@.username", KuserTextLI.Text))
cmd.Parameters.Item("@.username").Value = KuserTextLI.Text

this would be enought if you are adding a sql parameter of type VarChar in:

cmd.Parameters.add(new sqlparameter("@.username", kusertextLi.text))

and this would give you a sql parameter of type Numeric :

cmd.Parameters.add(new sqlparameter("@.age", cint(kagetextLi.text))

note that if your stored procedure has output variables you have to specify the direction of the parameters. Example:

dim param as new sqlparameter("@.username", kusertextLi.text))
param.direction = parameterdirection.input

Problem With Adding a Date Field to a Database When It is Null

I am having problems adding a date field to a SQL Server Database from a form in ASP.Net. When I leave the date field blank, it automatically inserts Monday, January 01, 1900. I want it to be null when the expiration date is left blank. Can someone please help me with this?

being used to run this process has the needed permissions on the objects and
