Problem with Back Up

I have a database I would like to setup auto backup.
More exact it has been set up.
All I want is to change the Destiantion and Schedule.
I remove old destination and establish new one.
Then setup the schedule and press OK.
Next time I check backup properties it has old destiantion.
And doesn't have any schedule.
Could anybody suggest me the means of solving this kind of
problem.

what commands do you have in your job?

Problem with ASP and SQL ODBC connection

Hi everyone, I need your expert advice. I have a w2k AD service with mssql on
it. and I setup another w2k server with IIS on it as webserver. my website
works on NT servers, but when I moved the website to the w2k server, it
doesn't work. It saids:

Hi
Since it is and IIS site, the local NT IIS account, IUSR_<machinename>, will
be the user coming through on the connection. You need to give it rights in
you DB.
The best way to do this is to create a domain account for IIS, give it
rights in your DB and then re-configure IIS to use that for anonymous access.
There are security implications, so make sure that you give the user the
least rights at domain and DB level.

Problem with a server broker conversation between two instances

I have a problem with a server broker conversation between two instances on the same machine.

I have used Server Listning Manager to setup the communication between the instances.

When i a try to send a dialog it stops in sys.transmissin_queue and transmission_status is "The Service Broker protocol transport cannot listen on port 4022 because it is in use by another process."

Can someone help me

Are you trying to set up the communication between two instances on the same host? Then only one instance can listen on port 4022, the second instance must use a different port (say 4023). Use ALTER ENDPOINT to change the listenning port of one of the instances:

ALTER ENDPOINT [broker] AS TCP (LISTENER_PORT = 4023);

Now that you changed the listener port, you must also change the route used by the other instance to point to the new port (in the database where the service is):

ALTER ROUTE [routename] WITH ADDRESS = N'TCP://hostname:4023'

problem with 2005 xml datasource that is xml render of a 2000 report

Hi,
I'm trying to setup an xml datasource in ssrs 2005. The xml datasource is
an xml render from a ssrs 2000 report.
The connection string is a url which works fine when I put it into a
standalone browser (prompts me to save the xml output).
However when I try to then do a basic Query String for a dataset, I get an
error back from ssrs 2000
"The value provided for the report parameter 'EndDate' is not valid for its
type. (rsReportParameterTypeMismatch) "
My url is url encoded, and has the name value pair
"rs:ParameterLanguage=en-GB" defined
Any ideas on troubleshooting this?

Problem while making Setup of Project

Hello friends,
While making a setup copy of my project I got the f errors in the following files-
i)d:\winnt\system32\crpe32.dll
ii)d:\winnt\system32\msvcrt.dll
iii)d:\winnt\system32\mfc42.dll
The error is-
The destination file is in use. Please ensure all other applications are closed. You have a chance to Abort, Retry, Ignore..If U ignore again the following message-
If U ignore, the file will not be copied and application may not run properly. Do U want to ignore.
ANother error I got was-
An error occured while registering d:\winnt\system32\msado20.tlb

Please let me know how to overcome these 4 errors...By the way I developed in VB6.0 and Oracle8i with Crystal Report 7.0 for reporting...O/S is Win 2000 Advanced Server..

When creating setup make sure that all the applications are closed. This may solve the first three problems. For the last problem, Use Microsoft ActiveX Data objects 2.0 library in the project.

which version of Crystal Report are you using? Try to register those dlls.

For the last error try the following

In your package and deployment look for the file setup.lst then under the [Setup1 Files] section look for the entry of Msado20.tlb, make sure that the registration is set to TLBRegister instead of DLLSelfRegister. Package and deployment wizard causes this error, just change and save your setup.lst then re-install your package

I implemented a s/w in an organisation..It has win 2000 advanced server as o/s, oracle 8i as RDBMS, Front End in VB 6.0 and reporting in crystal report..

Now there are two tables service_usage_detail and invoice-detail. invoice-detail has a FK to service_usage_detail...

Bfore I could updated any service_name in the invoice_detail table, if the user does any mistake..But now I'm not being able to do the updation as it gives an eror message- Parent key not found Error no 2291...

By the way bfore the problem persists I did defragmentation and check (Scandisk I suppose) of all drives of the HDD from drive property's Tools tab...Out of the drives I skiped defragmentation half way on drive H:..I have noticed that the prob arises after that...

You may either have a compress or a EFS encrypted folder. This isn′t allowed in SQL Server 2005. Remove the compressions and / or the encryption and try again.
