pammiDid your installation succeed? This seems to look like you didn't actually
have a successful installation.
In your SQL Server, do you have a database named reportserver and another
called reportservertempdb?
In your filesystem, do you have files under c:\program files\sql
server\mssql\reporting services?

You will need to reinstall reporting services. Ensure that after setup, the
reportserver service is running in the service control manager. Also ensure
you can access the report server on the virtual directory you specified
during setup,e.g. http://localhost/reportserver (default).

Problem when installing MS SQL Reporting Service

Hi,
I need help.
I am trying to install the Reporting Service.
When the screen was in "System Prerequisites Check", it tell me that
visual Studio.NET 2003 is not installed.
After clicking next in "System Prerequisites Check"
It jump to a page called "Welcome to ...SQL Reporting Service SETUP"
and then it automatically jump to a page called "Installing Reporting
Services"
But I haven't selected anything.
Then wait a few minutes, a general error message appears and and tell
me "... was failed to install Reporting Service" with the "Send Report"
and "Don't send" button.
Could anyone get the solution? Thank you very much.I am facing similar problem while installing Reporting Services.
At the "System Prerequisites Check" all checks are OK but at the
"Welcome to Ms SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services Setup" screen I
waited for 10-15 minutes for the NEXT button that never appeared.
Finally, a general error message appears and telling
me "... was failed to install Reporting Service" with the "Send Report"
and "Don't send" button.
Can someone help?|||I have resolved the problem by doing a windows update, shut down all
the active applications. Then proceed with the installation.
Your installer may be corrupted if this doesn't help.

Problem when adding ssis packages from microsoft visual source safe 6.0

I have created a integration services project on machine A and have added to visual source safe 6.0

When i try to take the project from source safe and store that on a different machine B i have a problem with it....

I check in everything on Machine A

When i try to add on machine B it tries to add it with "Name of package(1)" which means that its adding a copy. But it dosent do for all only for few

Could anyone let me know what the problem is?

Any time you see an unexpected "Name of package(1)" package added to you project, means the folder where the packages are stored already have a file with that name. Depending in how you do it, a file that is not part of the project may still exists in the folder. Use a windows explore to check what I am saying.

Problem Viewing Reports on Server

Hello, we're having a bit of an issue getting Report Server to display reports. We've published via the web-interface and Visual Studio. After we publish, it gives an error and it looks as if it's trying to find the data source that we used to create the report. We've changed the datasource names to match that of the local machine too. Here's the error...

  • An error has occurred during report processing.

  • Cannot create a connection to data source 'LocalDataSourceName'.

  • Keyword not supported: 'driver'.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What is the connection string and which data provider are you using? It looks like the data provider can't handle the connection string.|||Problem solved....we were using an invalid connection string. For some reason it was working on one server but not the other. Just tried a different string on both of them and it works great now.
  • Problem using Visual Studio 2008 Winforms ReportViewer

I have an application built using VS 2008 (3.5 fx). I build a series of
reports (using VS 2005 (sigh)) and am now tryiing to render them using a
Windows form and the ReportViewer control in the VS 2008 app. However I
always get the error message "The source of the report definition has not
been specified" when I execute the line
    m_reportViewer.RefreshReport();
When I try to view the very same report in a VS 2005 app it renders without
error. I can also view the report using Report Manager and preview it in the
VS 2005 app I use to build it. Any suggestions?
    Thx
